-Sunday, February 12, 2006- valentine's chuva-ekk-ekk

an actual conversation on a public bus.
(mind you para na kaming mga isdang nag-sisiksikan sa maliit na aquarium)

friend: din, are you celebrating valentine's day?
me: what?
friend: i mean, where do you plan to go on tuesday?
me: nowhere!
friend: so you're not celebrating valentine's day?
me: valentine's day are for couples...
friend: and...?
me: duh! i'm single... remember?

[...]
(after 10 mins.)

friend: oh.. so you're not going on a date?
me: with who?
friend: with anyone..
me: what?
friend: for valentine's day..
me: no! listen stop it okei?
friend: i was just asking.. why do you hate valentine's day?!
me: listen.. drop it..
friend: okei..

First, let me just say that i DO NOT hate <3 day... there's no reason for me to hate it.. Second, i DO NOT find it corny... (atleast, not 100%) pero kahit hindi ako single, i still won't be celebrating it.. i never did (unless you'd consider greeting back people who came to me smiling and said "happy valentine's day!", as celebrating it.. ) and i guess i never will.. i don't have anything against it... i actually find it romantic.. (the cheesy way romantic.. hehe.. which is sometimes good.. ) and i think people become nicer.. and SOME couples are surprisingly adorable.. hehehe.. plus when you sit yourself on a bench at a park and look around you on valentine's day, its like watching a romantic silent movie... you see my point is... i don't find it.. ummm, what's the word?! fair?! that MOST people only celebrate their love (naks!) on February 14... that they only organize surprises, make extra effort to show how much someone really means to them on that certain day because tradition tells them to do so.. its just not right.. people should do it every single day of their coupling life...
